OV-Watch® Fertility Predictor Kit
OVWatch Fertility Predictor Kit Tracks, Monitors, and Predicts Your
Fertility While You Sleep!
Nearly 66% More Pregnancies are Estimated to Occur by Month 6 with the OV-Watch
Fertility Predictor vs. Urinary LH Ovulation Test Kits. The OV-Watch Fertility
Predictor Kit is the only wristwatch-like fertility monitor device that uses
advanced technology to identify your 6 day fertility window. Experts agree that
the 4 full days before ovulation hold the highest probability of conception,
partly due to the 5-day lifespan of sperm in the female genital tract.
The OV-Watch Fertility Predictor Kit provides you with notice up to four days
before ovulation during which you may have the greatest chance of getting
pregnant. The OV-Watch Fertility Predictor Kit has been designed to help
increase your odds of conception.
How Does the OV-Watch Fertility Predictor Kit Work?
Researchers in the late 50s and early 60s noted that numerous salts (chloride,
sodium, potassium) in a woman's sweat fluctuated in relation to her menstrual
cycle. Chloride levels are low at the start of your menstrual cycle and peak
three times during your cycle (see chart below). Using a patented biosensor, the
OV-Watch Fertility Predictor Kit detects a baseline chloride ion level for you
and then accurately predicts your ovulation based on the timing of the first
peak. The OV-Watch Fertility Predictor detects the chloride surge 3 days prior
to the estrogen surge, 4 days prior to the LH surge, and 5 days prior to
ovulation -- making it an earlier fertility predictor of ovulation than any
other chemical surge during the month.
For women trying to conceive, knowing the days before ovulation increases your
chances of getting pregnant.
Nearly 66% More Pregnancies are Estimated to Occur by Month 6 with OV-Watch
Fertility Predictor vs. Urinary LH Test Kits.
The graph below shows a woman's different hormonal surges on the days before she
ovulates. This graph shows a 28-day cycle, however, in any cycle length, the
pattern is the same. You will notice that the chloride ion surge happens well in
advance of the estrogen and the LH surge. That is how only the OV-Watch
Fertility Predictor Kit can give you your entire fertility window, including
those 4 crucial days before ovulation, in a wrist-watch style, easy to use
fertility monitor device.

Dr. Arthur Haney, M.D., Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology
at the University of Chicago states, "Couples trying to conceive using the
OV-Watch [Fertility Predictor] will be able to predict their ovulation date four
days in advance for the first time. This allows couples to reduce the stress
involved, and with intercourse on multiple days, increases their cumulative
likelihood of pregnancy.”
OV-Watch Fertility Predictor is Easy to Use
The OV-Watch Fertility Predictor is worn on your wrist while you sleep. You
start wearing the OV-Watch Fertility Predictor on the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd day of
your menstrual cycle and wear it through ovulation. The OV-Watch Fertility
Predictor measures your changes in your chloride ion levels that are secreted in
perspiration every 30 minutes and records up to 12 readings per period. The
OV-Watch Fertility Predictor’s patented technology detects the chloride ion
surge and alerts you to FERTILE DAY 1, FERTILE DAY 2, FERTILE DAY 3, FERTILE DAY
4, OVULATION DAY 1, and the day after. The OV-Watch Fertility Monitor is the
ONLY device of its kind that can give you the 4 days BEFORE ovulation. That can
make all the difference when you are trying to conceive.
The OV-Watch Fertility Predictor can be used for this pregnancy and subsequent
pregnancies, and unlike urine based products you can share the OV-Watch
Fertility Predictor with a friend or family member after you get pregnant.

Knowing the 4 days Before Ovulation Leads to the Highest Probability of
Conception
The graph below depicts what a woman's probability of conception is on the days
before, during, and after ovulation. It may be surprising to find that the
highest probability of conception occurs with intercourse on the days before
ovulation, rather than the day of ovulation itself.
According to a 2001 report in Statistics in Medicine, the day of ovulation holds
only a 5% chance of conception, but the four days before hold a cumulative 80%
chance of conceiving. These findings demonstrate that a woman's highest
probability of conception is on the 4-5 days before ovulation.
By maximizing your most fertile days with the OV-Watch Fertility Predictor Kit,
you can increase your chances of pregnancy and get pregnant sooner.

LH Urine Sticks vs. OV-Watch Fertility Predictor
With the OV-Watch Fertility Predictor's Advanced Technology, you will get
advanced notice of ovulation. It is a common misconception for couples trying to
conceive that they should only have intercourse when you’re ovulating. It is
true that the time of ovulation is when the sperm fertilizes the egg for
conception; however, the day of ovulation is not the only day that is considered
"fertile".
According to several published medical articles the highest probability of
conception occurs with intercourse on the days prior to ovulation, rather than
the day of ovulation itself. Most health experts believe a woman's cervical
mucus is at its most fertile stage in the days before ovulation. And since sperm
is reported to live for 6 days in the genital tract, having intercourse on those
four days before ovulation may hold a woman's highest probability of conception
for that month.
OV-Watch differs from the LH urine stick tests, in that it detects the 4 crucial
days before ovulation, as opposed to the LH test sticks that simply detect the
LH surge that is 12-24 hours before ovulation.
Using urine ovulation predictor strips and charting temperature to identify when
you are ovulating can be messy, inconvenient, and may lead to inaccurate
results. Urine testing for the LH surge may miss ovulation in up to one third of
women. A woman's LH surge is detected in the urine only 12-24 hours before
ovulation. Sandra Ann Carson, the President of the American Society for
Reproductive Medicine is quoted as saying, "Although LH peaks accurately detect
ovulation, they do not identify the pre-ovulatory fertile period. Up to two
thirds of pregnancies are conceived at or prior to ovulation."
Basal Body Temperature (BBT) or charting your temperature lets you know after
you have ovulated. Only the OV-Watch Fertility Predictor’s patented technology
can detect the 4 days before you ovulate in an easy to use, lightweight, wrist
watch style fertility predictor. Those 4 days do make all the difference when

Frequently Asked Questions About the OV-Watch Fertility Predictor
Is the OV-Watch Fertility Predictor Right for Me?
Women with regular monthly cycles lasting between 24 and 35 days are suitable
candidates to use the OV-Watch Fertility Predictor Kit. Women whose menstrual
cycles are anovulatory might get misleading results from the OVWatch Fertility
Predictor Kit. OV-Watch Fertility Predictor can be programmed for use by women
with a cycle from 20 days to 39 days in length.
Certain personal circumstances, medical conditions, and medications can
adversely affect fertility and the body's natural ability to ovulate, and may
prevent pregnancy. These include menopausal symptoms, breastfeeding, impaired
liver or kidney function, polycystic ovarian syndrome, and treatments that
affect the menstrual cycle, like birth control pills, or any hormonal
contraception.
If you were recently pregnant, stopped breastfeeding, or recently stopped using
hormonal contraception, you may want to wait until you have had two normal
monthly cycles before using the OV-Watch Fertility Predictor Kit. Incorrect
setup or incorrect wearing of the OV-Watch Fertility Predictor device, or
missing days of wear, may lead to erroneous or inconclusive results. OV-Watch
Fertility Predictor is not intended for contraception and should not be used by
women who are monitoring their cycles for the purpose of avoiding pregnancy.
Remember: There are no fertility monitors or ovulation predictor devices available that
can guarantee success in achieving pregnancy.
The Advanced Technology of OV-Watch helps to get you pregnant sooner. Because
the OV-Watch Fertility Predictor helps you take advantage of your full fertile
window, you can increase your chances of conception. By knowing more fertile
days, you are also able to plan without the rush to have intercourse. This makes
trying to get pregnant more natural and spontaneous.
Can exercise or showering affect the OV-Watch?
Yes. It is best to wait at least one hour after showering or vigorous exercise
before wearing the OV-Watch, but remember to never get OV-Watch wet.
Can I use the OV-Watch if I am still taking birth control pills?
No. The use of the pill would definitely affect the results of predicting
ovulation, since the woman will not ovulate. Women on the pill would have no
need to use any form of ovulation predictor product since if they were on birth
control pills they would not be trying to get pregnant. If you are trying to get
pregnant, discontinue use of your birth control pills before you begin using
OV-Watch.
Can I use the OV-Watch if I am a diabetic controlled by diet (not pills or
insulin)?
The diabetic condition you have should not impact the use of the OV-Watch
ovulation predictor.
How Does the OV-Watch Fertility Predictor Work?
The OV-Watch is a wristwatch-like device that comprises a timepiece, a
biochemical sensor, and an advanced microcomputer. The biochemical sensor
measures sweat ion changes on the surface of the skin. The advanced
microcomputer tracks your fertility status and acts as an advanced ovulation
predictor. All of these components together allow the watch to predict the days
when a woman is most likely to get pregnant. The sensor on the underside of the
watch makes contact with the skin when you wear the watch on your wrist. Using
this patented biosensor, OV-Watch detects a baseline chloride ion level for each
woman and then accurately predicts ovulation based on the timing of the first
peak that comes approximately 6 days before ovulation That chloride ion surge is
detectable in a women’s perspiration. The OV-Watch Fertility Predictor detects
the chloride surge 3 days prior to the estrogen surge, 4 days prior to the LH
surge and 5 days prior to ovulation, making it an earlier predictor of ovulation
than any other chemical surge during the month.
Knowing the 4 days before you ovulate not only reduces your stress level but
medical literature supports that having intercourse on the 4 days before
ovulation day dramatically increases your odds of getting pregnant. This is due
to several factors related to sperm and egg life.

Does the OV-Watch Fertility Predictor Work if I am Taking Fertility Drugs?
In an ongoing clinical trial, OV-Watch Fertility Predictor performed as expected
with fertility drugs, like Clomid. There have been success stories from women
who have used the OV-Watch Fertility Predictor and Clomid together with success.
Note: The watch should continue to work as long as the fertility drugs do not
mask the physical symptoms of ovulation or the signs of ovulation. Herbs and
fertility supplements have not been studied with OV-Watch.
What happens if I get the OV-Watch Fertility Predictor wet?
Remove the sensor and leave the monitor face down for a couple of hours to let
any moisture evaporate.
I have used the OV-Watch Fertility Predictor for one month and have not had a
fertile reading. What is wrong?
The OV-Watch Fertility Predictor should indicate fertile days during your
fertile window. The lack of detection and/or indication of detection of
fertility can be due to a lack of contact with the skin (ie: the watch is not
being worn tight enough), or failure of the sensor due to water exposure or
other reasons described in the user reference manual. It is also possible that
you have gone through your cycle without ovulating. It is normal to have an
occasional cycle without ovulating and therefore not have a fertile reading.
The letters on my OVWatch Fertility Predictor have shadows and are a little
blurred. What is wrong with the display?
Very often this shadowing occurs with a surge in energy and is typical when a
new battery is inserted or when the watch starts up for the first time. The
shadowing of the letters is just a temporary matter that will last about 24
hours or less and should not occur again unless a new battery is inserted.
How Tight Must I attach the OV-Watch Fertility Predictor to my wrist?
The OV-Watch Fertility Predictor device needs to be snug on the wrist to make
good contact, but not so tight as to affect blood flow to your hand.
Can the OV-Watch Fertility Predictor improve its accuracy the longer I use it?
Unlike other ovulation predictors, OV-Watch begins the first cycle that you use
it informing you of your 6 fertile days.
While you are wearing the OV-Watch Fertility Predictor, it takes a reading every
30 minutes up to 12 readings per 24 hours period. That data is used to properly
determine your individual fertile window. Having intercourse during the fertile
window that the OV-Watch provides doubles your probability of conception as
compared to LH testing.
OV-Watch's fertility prediction is predicated on advanced technology but
established science. References related to chloride ion changes during a woman's
menstrual cycle have been in medical literature dating back to the 1960's.
However, until OV-Watch’s advanced and patented technology was developed, the
science of Cl ion surges during a woman’s menstrual cycle could not be utilized
to predict ovulation. The OV-Watch Fertility Predictor is the first fertility
predictor on the market that has the advanced technology (patented biosensor and
microprocessor) to measure sweat ion changes on the skin and accurately predict
not only ovulation, but the most fertile days of the cycle including the day of
ovulation.
To put it simply, 66% more pregnancies are estimated to occur by month 6 with
OV-Watch over LH kits.
Can I Use an OV-Watch Fertility Predictor Sensor for More Than
One Cycle?
No. The sensor has a gel contained within it that depletes as the sensor
operates. The sensor can only be used for one cycle.

Can I get More Information?
It is important to remember that there are no ovulation predictor devices
available that can guarantee success in achieving pregnancy. However, by
utilizing the advanced technology that the OV-Watch provides, you have advanced
notice of ovulation and find your entire fertile window. Proper identification
of your individual fertility window may shorten the time to conception from 6
months to one month for the majority of women (3 out of 4 women) Intercourse on
the fertile days that the OV-Watch provides doubles your chances of conceiving
as compared to LH testing.
Here’s how the OV-Watch ovulation predictor works
The OV-Watch Fertility
Predictor consists of a wristwatch-like device that comprises a timepiece, a
biochemical sensor, and an advanced microcomputer. The biochemical sensor
measures sweat ion changes on the surface of the skin. The advanced
microcomputer tracks your fertility status. All of these components together
allow the watch to predict the days when you are most likely to get pregnant.
The sensor on the underside of the OV-Watch makes contact with the skin when you
wear the watch on your wrist. The sensor contains a non-allergenic gel that
mixes with the light moisture that develops between the sensor and your skin.
The gel facilitates the ionic interchange that enables OV-Watch to predict your
most fertile days of the month. This is how the OV-Watch works as an advanced
ovulation predictor. It is important not to misinform the sensor with water from
a shower, water activity or the excessive sweat produced from exercising. It is
recommended that you wear the OV-Watch Fertility Predictor at night while
sleeping.
What Health Factors Could Interfere With the OV-Watch results?
The watch is designed to work on naturally ovulating women. Please refer to the
Limitations of Use section (page 5) for health conditions adversely affecting
the watch.
How accurate is OV-Watch as a fertility predictor?
OV-Watch Fertility Predictor clinical testing for FDA clearance was conducted by
Duke Clinical Research Institute. For the primary endpoint of the study,
accuracy of prediction of ovulation, OV-Watch was deemed “substantially
equivalent” to LH testing and outperformed BBT. However, more important to
finding your greatest probability of conceiving -- finding your full fertile
window -- OV-Watch provided up to 4 days notice prior to ovulation as compared
to BBT, which provides no advanced notice of ovulation, and up to 4 days prior
to ovulation, as compared to LH urine kits that provide only hours before
ovulation. The trial concluded that:
“Properly used, OV-Watch gives more notice for conceiving and is not invasive."
"This device (OV-Watch Fertility Predictor) provides the user with notice up to
4 days before ovulation during which the user may have the greatest chance of
becoming pregnant."
That is why the cumulative conception rate is almost double with OV-Watch. To
put it simply, 66% more pregnancies are estimated to occur by month 6 with
OV-Watch over LH kits.

What if I forget to wear the watch?
If two or more days of readings are missed completely in the pre-fertile phase
of your cycle the watch will forfeit the cycle and display NO DATA on the
fertility status screen.
Can I use the OV-Watch Fertility Predictor if I work night shifts or for some
other reason where I have to sleep during the day?
Yes. Just make sure that you wear it for six consecutive hours each calendar day
during the pre-ovulation phase of your cycle.
What can I do when I push the wrong button or push one accidentally?
The watch has a button lock feature to avoid accidental button presses. If you
are in a particular programming sequence, refer to the instructions for that
sequence regarding a way to cancel your actions.
What does a blank screen indicate?
First, press buttons B and C together for 3 seconds to see
whether the watch is in sleep mode. If the screen remains blank, or the seconds
stop counting, then the watch requires immediate service and you should contact
the manufacturer directly.
How can I be sure the sensor is working properly?
Refer to the Test Mode section of the OV-Watch User Guide for specific details
on how to determine proper sensor functioning.
Is the OV-Watch Fertility Predictor waterproof?
No. The OV-Watch Fertility Predictor contains a microprocessor, which cannot get
wet. Take the device off your wrist when swimming, showering, bathing or even
when washing your hands or dishes.
How should I store the watch when I do not need to wear it any longer?
First remove the sensor. When storing the watch for an extended period of time,
it is a good idea to put it into sleep mode to conserve the battery life. Press
Buttons A and B at the same time for 3 seconds to put the watch in sleep mode.
The original packaging of the watch includes a plastic storage case which should
be used.

Why do I have to enter in my approximate cycle length the first month?
Throughout your cycle, there are several surges of chloride ions related to
hormonal changes during your cycle. See the surge graph in the quick start guide
that came with your OV-Watch. The chloride ion surge that OV-Watch is looking
for to determine your individual fertile window, comes about 6 days before
ovulation. In a 28 day cycle, it is the first surge of Chloride ion that the
watch is detecting. On a cycle that is longer than 29 days, it is the second or
third surge that indicates 6 days before ovulation. By entering in your
approximate cycle length, you are helping the watch to determine which surge to
look for to accurately determine your individual fertile window.
Why does the OV-Watch switch to fertile day 1 when I am not wearing it?
Throughout your cycle, there are several surges of chloride ions. Refer to the
Quick Start Guide to see the surge graph. The surge in chloride Ions that
OV-Watch is looking for comes about 6 days before ovulation. Once it detects the
surge, it holds that data and processes it with the baseline levels that it has
already stored in memory. Then, when the user is 4 days from ovulation, it reads
fertile day 1. Since the data is compiled at midnight, that is when it will turn
to fertile day 1. When you see that reading, the surge was actually detected
days before. Once OV-Watch detects the chloride surge that it is looking for, it
has done its job. It will alert you to your fertile window: the 4 crucial days
before ovulation and the day of ovulation. It works similarly to the urine
sticks in that they detect for the LH surge that comes hours before ovulation.
Once they detect that LH surge, you can assume that you are going to ovulate in
the next 12 hours or so.
Why does OV-Watch go on automatic after getting fertile day 1 reading?
OV-Watch detects the surge of chloride ions that comes about 6 days Before
ovulation. Once the user sees fertile day 1, that means that the watch has
detected the surge, and can predict that they are going to ovulate 4 days later.
Once OV-Watch detects the chloride surge that it is looking for, it has done its
job and is able to give you 4 days advanced notice of ovulation. It works very
similar to the LH based urine sticks in that they detect the LH surge that comes
hours before ovulation. When the user gets a positive on the stick, they can
assume that they are going to ovulate in the next 0-24 hours. That advanced
notice that OV-Watch offers the user makes the difference when trying to
conceive.
What happens when I replace the battery in the watch and the battery low
indicator does not go away?
OV-Watch takes a reading every 12 hours to determine battery life. Once a new
battery has been installed, it may take up to 12 hours for the low-battery icon
to reset, and then the battery low indicator will disappear.
When do I start wearing OV-Watch and for how long in my cycle do I need to wear
it?
OV-Watch needs to be worn from the 1st (first day of red blood bleeding), 2nd,
or 3rd day of your period, every day or night for at least 6 hours. It is
required that you wear OV-Watch through your 4 fertile days and ovulation time.
You can stop wearing it after the "NF" has returned. In the event that you are
not pregnant that cycle, please follow the directions in the manual to start a
new cycle when your period begins again. If you are pregnant that cycle, then
press button A and B together and hold for a few seconds. This will put the
watch to sleep to save the battery for future use.
